The 5 most common mistakes when wearing a bow tie
- If you have decided to wear a light bow tie , wear it at daytime events or at night events but match the color of the shirt. This way you will ensure that it does not stand out too much, and it will be noticeable that your accessory is daytime.
- Reserve bow ties with glitter, patent finish, leather, satin or velvet for evening events (from 7 pm onwards)
- Never, ever, unless you know what you are doing, combine a striped shirt with a bow tie (whether printed or plain), you will lose attention from the bow tie and focus it on the “horrible striped-bow tie combination.”
- When you have chosen the wrong shirt collar or bow tie . This happens when the collar of the bow tie protrudes from the side or below the collar of the shirt, or when your bow tie is excessively large compared to the collar of the shirt. Both shirt and bow tie must be proportioned so that the overall look does not turn out to be disastrous.
- If you are going to use a bow tie in your look, do it at a celebration consistent with this accessory . That is to say, a bow tie is appropriate at a party, dinner, gala or wedding, since you will be in harmony with the rest of the guests. However, if one day in the morning you feel super elegant and decide to go to the gym or go shopping, it will possibly be "too much."

Con debate académico pensamos en una presentación de tesis, doctorado o tesina ¿cierto?
Si éste es tu caso, y dado que quieres causar una buena impresión a aquellos que atenderán al debate, debes pensar en un estilo que te permita cumplir con tu objetivo, mostrarte como referente y líder de opinión.
Con el vestuario que comentas recomendarte ciertas cosas:
- Pantalón, te recomendaríamos que para esta ocasión combines el pantalón y la chaqueta del mismo color y material.
- Camisa, el cuello debe ser un cuello simple, tipo italiano o inglés. Que no destaque mucho.
- Cinturón, también te recomendaríamos que busques uno de vestir que combine con el resto del look.
- Zapatos, los zapatos deben combinar con el traje y estar limpios y relucientes.
- La pajarita, si le quieres dar un toque diferente al look es una buena opción llamar la “atención” con una pajarita.
Dicho ésto, la pajarita debe ser discreta, de algodón o de algún material acorde al evento. No uses pajaritas de raso, con brillo, terciopelos, etc que son más de fiesta o eventos nocturnos.
