How to wear a bow tie without a jacket
Leave the jackets and suits and wear a bow tie without fear of failure
Because the canons tell us, and the movies too , that this element of distinction and elegance can only be combined with suits , tailcoats or jackets, but the reality is that more and more, we see men go out on the street with a bow tie without dressing it with the rest of the "clichés" .
Furthermore, taking into account that days of high temperatures are approaching, we want to tell you how to wear your bow tie without fear of making a mistake.
- Bow ties, cool, fun and original, cotton and dull, use them in daytime or spring/summer looks. Combine them with a vest, blazer, V-neck sweater and/or with denim or leather jackets . You will have a very modern and fresh look.
- Bow ties with jeans! Don't be afraid to put on those jeans that look great on you, yes, you will have to wear a shirt collar, ALWAYS.
- Bow ties with checkered shirts, for this you need two things: 1. that your bow tie matches your shirt (same range of colors) and 2. that your bow tie is plain (if you add an additional print, you can make those present dizzy)
- Bow tie with vest and/or suspenders. The most trendy look that we have mentioned previously, since it involves "dressing it up" with more accessories, such as suspenders and/or a vest. Elements that, as always, you have to know how to combine, and if you don't want to take risks, it is better to opt for flat and smooth colors (black, bottle green, navy blue)
- Bow ties with sneakers/converse. If there is something we like, it is seeing how many of you wear this casual look combining your bow ties with comfortable, sporty shoes. We love this look, and if you want to be elegant as well as comfortable, why not try combining them with your converse?
Never, ever, ever combine them like that;
- If there is one thing that looks horrible, dodgy and tacky, it is combining a bow tie with a polo shirt . No matter how much they have a collar, polo shirts are sportswear. If your intention is to combine a sporty garment with a more "classy" one, do so following what we have told you a little above (but don't make our corneas bleed)
- A t-shirt , for the same reason as the previous one. Because a t- shirt was not made to wear a bow tie (since otherwise it would have a collar and would not have x% elastane) . Because there is nothing more terrible than seeing the collar of the shirt, your skin and the printed collar of the bow tie. So that you have a clear image of how it looks, imagine those "elegant" bachelorette stripers in leather but wearing an elegant bow tie... that's how we'll see it.
- Combine your printed bow tie with prints on your shirt , without following the range of colors or the pattern of the garments. A terrible mistake, especially for those of you who are not experienced users, we never recommend double prints.
